Standing on Hijiyama hill overlooking Hiroshima City, the Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art was the first modern art museum in the city and opened in 1989. The museum collections show the history of modern art after WWII, the relationship between Hiroshima and modern art, and artworks by young upcoming artists.

[By car] Approx.30 min. from Hiroshima IC of Sanyo Expressway
[By public transportation] Approx. 10 min. by tram bound for Hiroshima-ko via Hijiyama-shimo from Hiroshima Station and get off at "Hijiyama-shimo" tram stop then approx. 500m on foot.

Available (125 cars in Hijiyama koen parking, large-size bus is available.)
Fee :
Collection Exhibition/Adults: 300 yen. College students: 200 yen. Under high school students and 65 years old or older: 150 yen.
