Discovered more than 1170 years ago, this hot spring was used by Hiroshima's feudal master - Lord Asano. It was designated as the National Recreational Hot Spring Resort of the Ministry of Environment in 1972 and as a Significant Intangible Folk Cultural Asset of Japan in 1974. In July 1994, a multipurpose hot spring resort called "Kurhaus Yunoyama" opened. Its health promoting waters soon became popular. There is Morii Inn for accommodation at Yu-no-Yama.
