Seafood / Sushi

The southern coastline of Hiroshima is part of the Seto Inland Sea, often referred to as 'Setouchi'. These waters are renowned throughout Japan for their bountiful fishing and deliciously fresh seafood. Try the famous grilled 'anago' eel on rice at Miyajimaguchi, or travel to Mihara City to sample its highly-prized octopus cuisine. For the more adventurous, you can even try 'wani' shark meat, a local speciality in the north of Hiroshima.
